Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited is looking for a Scale Operator to work at our Pipeline depot in Coquitlam, BC. Reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, this position will have a tremendous impact on the day to day administrative operations of our business. Additionally, this position will have some responsibility for operating the truck scales and producing scale tickets for truck drivers.

While the primary location for this position is at our Pipeline depot in Coquitlam, BC, support for short duration to other sites in the Lower Mainland may sometimes be required.

What you will get to do:

  • Generate scale tickets for loaded vehicles in accordance with established policy

  • Communicate general product descriptions, availability, and location to customers upon request.

  • Notify customers coming into the yard of safety hazards or yard policies where applicable

  • Liaise with Depot Supervisor, Sales Team, Dispatch, and Loader Operator when necessary regarding any Yard, Barge, Inventory or Customer concerns

  • Generate reporting for operations, including sales history, production, and end of day reports

  • Provide administrative support for back office transactions to support the Sales Team

  • Entering and maintaining data in our systems, including purchase orders and scanning of previous day’s scale tickets into system

  • Assist with administrative activities for other departments or processes as required

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • High School graduate and some post-secondary education preferred

  • Ability to multi-task, meet established deadlines, and work within internal processes and procedures.

  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to work independently while also participating effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, construction materials environment or larger business entity is an asset

  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Teams. Experience additional applications, including SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, and other programs as needed will be an asset

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including day/night shifts, and occasional weekends

  • Access to a reliable vehicle for transportation is required
