The Mobile Equipment Supervisor role is based in Pavilion, NY and reports directly to the Sr. Area Operations Manager.  

What you’ll get to do

  • Plan and direct maintenance operations for physical plant and mobile equipment of a maintenance shop; prepare schedules and coordinate activities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the execution of preventative maintenance, running maintenance and emergency repair to mobile equipment, and gas- and diesel-powered stationary equipment.

  • Supervision and oversight of contractors working on mobile equipment, both on site and off site.

  • Be sure that the people in the department are properly trained in maintenance craft skills and safe work practices, including the potential environmental impact effect by malfunctioning mobile equipment. Evaluate training needs and individual training programs for the department members as needed.

  • Proactively managing health & safety of employees

  • Keep records and work with the management to maintain PMs.

  • Manage some projects, including bidding, budgeting, and field supervision of contractors.

  • Prepare the mobile equipment maintenance budget and track equipment maintenance costs.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • At least 8 years of mobile equipment repair and maintenance experience

  • Experience working with large rotating heavy industry machinery and equipment

  • Strong understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques and technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate others

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects

  • Strong communication skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of tasks

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 3 or more years of supervisory experience

  • SAP

Work Environment

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
