The Customer Service Representative role is based in Katy, TX and reports directly to the Area Dispatch Manager/Supervisor.

Campbell Concrete & Materials operates 17 ready mixed concrete plants throughout the greater Houston area. With more than 150 mixer trucks, Campbell has provided a quality ready mix product for over 50 years. Currently, as part of Lehigh Hanson, Inc., one of the largest construction materials companies in North America, Campbell has access to the most knowledgeable experts in the industry.

Campbell Concrete & Materials can provide a wide range of ready mixed concrete products to meet the requirements for all commercial, industrial, paving, residential projects, and DIY projects.

Under the direction of the Dispatch Manager / Supervisor will ensure timely delivery service and optimum fleet utilization based on cubic yards per driver hour.

What you’ll get to do

  • Receive product orders and communicate with dispatchers to properly service your market area.

  • Review orders for proper mix design, travel times, and correct job start times, and job or customer specific needs.

  • Collaborate with plant and operations personnel to ensure that the assigned shipping area has the proper resources, personnel, and trucks available to provide superior customer service.

  • Communicate effectively with customers to provide up to date information regarding the company’s ability to meet expected delivery times and service.

  • Data entry of customer and job information and run reports.

  • Represent the company as the liaison between customers and operations personnel.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Proven ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in the work setting.

  • Motivation and ability to work fluctuating hours and days in accordance with customer needs.

  • Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to handle external and internal. customers with tact and professionalism.

  • Heavy phone volume.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Having basic product knowledge to effectively process customer orders for material.

  • ​​​Abides by all company policies and procedures.

  • Provide timely feedback to management regarding service failures or customer concerns.

  • Partner with the sales team to meet and exceed customer’s expectations.

  • Represent the company as our liaison between customers and operations personnel.

  • Must be able to learn and perform basic dispatching responsibilities.

  • Education, trainings, or certifications beyond high school.

  • Inside Sales, or sales experience.

  • Product knowledge in concrete or construction materials.

  • Bilingual.

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
