The Maintenance Manager role is based in Edmonton, Alberta and reports directly to the Plant Manager.
What you’ll get to do
Manage the allocation of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation resources and budget for efficiency and cost effectiveness
Determine the strategy and execution of the preventative maintenance program
Plan and achieve maintenance goals and objectives consistent with overall plant targets
Establish and manage maintenance budget and cost control initiatives
Review and evaluate maintenance programs, planning and scheduling, equipment availability, supplier performance, and project work
Manage the annual plant turnaround and equipment shutdowns
Participate in the on-call program
Implement Lehigh’s maintenance initiative and Contractor Management Policy
Provide expertise in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of plant system issues to achieve minimal disruptions in operations
Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance
Proactively manage health and safety of employees to continuously improve the company’s safety and health performance
Essential Experience and Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cement manufacturing or a related industrial environment
Supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
Maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing
Strong demonstrated experience in leadership and project management, problem solving, strategic thinking and decision making to ensure coordination of work and completion of projects and tasks
Strong demonstrated expertise in the areas of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, principles, techniques, and technologies.
Strong demonstrated expertise in project management and the inspection, repair, and installation of equipment
Proficient with MS Office, and SAP applications
Financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting and cost management
Knowledge of safe work practices and safety regulations, and proven strong safety habits
Preferred Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong MS Project and Excel skills
SAP experience
Cement manufacturing experience
Work Environment
- Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
