Lehigh Cement, a Lehigh Hanson company, is seeking a qualified Electrical Supervisor. This position will reside at the cement plant in Delta, BC. Reporting to the Process Control Manager, this position is primarily responsible for managing the day to day activities of the electrical department staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote safe work habits and a safe work environment.

  • Schedule, assign, plan, and monitor the work of electrical shop personnel. Oversee training and development and communicate changes in work methods or procedures to staff.

  • Communicate anticipated jobs to the Maintenance Planner and provide input into store stocks.

  • Ensure the proper functioning of electrical and control systems. Provide technical assistance for electricians in the installation and troubleshooting of electrical and control equipment.

  • Maintain time, work orders, material, equipment, and other electrical shop records. Generate reports as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plant electrical system problems.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Planner including parts and materials.

  • Administer the collective agreement and all company policies and procedures.

  • Respond to emergency situations to ensure continuity of operations on a 24/7 basis.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Electrical ticket or Equivalent relevant experience (i.e. Electrical Engineer or Technologist)

  • 8 years of electrical / instrumentation repair and maintenance experience in heavy industrial environment, including 3 years of supervisor experience, preferably in a unionized environment.

  • Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations

  • Knowledge of electrical applications for high and medium voltage electrical systems

  • Demonstrated skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components

  • Familiarity with MS Office products. Good working knowledge of SAP

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, problem solving, and decision-making

  • Ability to perform tasks that include walking, climbing equipment, working within confined spaces, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and Field Safety Rep (FSR) designations are desirable.
