We have an immediate need for Terminal Associates at our Cape Canaveral, FL terminal. The person in this position inspects, maintains, and performs minor repairs on plant equipment in an industrial setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Typical mechanical repairs could involve:

  • Use of hand tools such as grinders, drills, etc.

  • Lubrication routes

  • Daily inspections

  • Use of forklift, manlift and other similar mobile equipment

Typical electrical repairs could involve:

  • Reset of electrical breakers

  • LOTOTO of plant equipment

Follows all safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Maintains an awareness of plant environmental standards. Takes corrective action to address minor problems or reports compliance issues to appropriate supervisor for resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.

  • Ability to work required rotating 12-hour shifts.

  • Valid driver license.

  • Two years mechanical experience and familiarity with electrical repairs and/or training required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English effectively with employees of organization.

  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate extreme temperatures

  • WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Frequently required to: walk and climb, walk long distances and perform clean-up of spilled materialspush/pull and climb ladders, travel catwalks at varying distances, climb staircases up to 170 feet in elevation, and reach above shoulders to climb laddersExert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force regularly, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objectsConstantly required to hear sounds and have clarity of near, far and peripheral sight with depth perceptionRequires use of: feet for repetitive movements such as driving, walking, climbing stairway and ladders; both hands for grasping and fine manipulations for repetitive motionsWork required near moving mechanical parts, at heights up to 170 feet, able to tolerate various levels of vibration and work in a regularly loud environmentNo search firms please.Lehigh Hanson is a Drug Free Workplace
