This position will be located in Cape Canaveral, FL.

  • Make a complete inspection of the plant at least once per shift

  • Maintain two-way radio communication at all times with the control room operator or supervisor

  • Assist in sampling procedures

  • Inspect and clean weigh feeders to ensure accuracy

  • Observe bag houses to guard against air contamination

  • Look for and report defective lubrication, cooling water tower system, bearing and drives

  • Routinely poke down on air lance pre-heather tower as conditions dictate. Daily clean up assignments

  • Maintain working area in a neat and orderly condition

  • Capable of troubleshooting production/process problems

  • Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as required by supervision

  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety rules and practices and requirements of air and water quality standards


  • Willingness to work rotating shifts

  • Basic mathematic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage calculations)

  • Read, write and speak English fluently


  • Frequently sit, walk and climb

  • Be able to walk comfortably up to a mile a day

  • Light to medium level work; exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force regularly, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

  • Frequently will be required to push/pull and climb ladders no greater than 20 ft at a time

  • Frequently will be required to travel catwalks no less than 10 degrees inclined and no greater than 20 degrees inclined at varying distances less than 200 feet occasionally, up to 800 feet frequently and 2,500 feet occasionally

  • Frequently will be required to climb stair cases up to 110 feet in elevation

  • Frequently required to reach above shoulders to climb ladders and occasionally standing

  • Occasionally required to sit while in a company vehicle or office

  • Constantly required to hear sounds and have clarity of near, far and peripheral sight with depth perception

  • Requires use of feet for repetitive movements such as driving, walking, climbing stairway and ladders

  • Regularly requires use of both hands for grasping and fine manipulations for repetitive motions

  • Required specific vision abilities:

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)

  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)

  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up or down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)

  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)

  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

  • Occasional exposure:

  • Work near moving mechanical parts

  • Work in high, precarious places

  • Toxic or caustic chemicals

  • Outdoor weather conditions

  • Vibration
